Current Skincare ft. Glossier

Current Skincare ft. Glossier

I admit it, I've always been kind of a skincare junkie. But the struggle I've had with acne for over half of my life has most likely contributed to my ever-changing routines and rotating products regularly. If I found find something amazing that finally worked-- it would be for a short period of time before I developed some kind of allergy or it just stopped working when my hormones flipped out again.

Recently, I feel like I've finally sorted out my "adult skincare routine", and it's one I really enjoy. I look forward to washing my face. (Is that weird?) After realizing my skin would allow me less break outs the less messing around I did to it, I stopped using any products for acne-prone skin. Now, it's gentle cleaners, unscented or naturally scented lotions, potions, and oils that have truly transformed my skin for the better. No more stripping my face of any and all oil, then leaving it a bright, irritated red in all the wrong places.

I have followed Into the Gloss for some time and excitedly tuned in to the birth of the beauty brand Glossier. The motto is "Skin first. Make-up second. Smile always." which has inspired me to invest in my skin, rather than my makeup. I first purchased the Phase 1 kit, which included my now-fave cleanser and moisturizer. I just bough Phase 2 this week, which includes more new products, including some amazing makeup I can't wait to share!

These 8 products are the total of my skincare regime now. I do not have shelves and drawers and cosmetic bags filled with sticky half used bottles and tubes. Just this. It feels so good!

Glossier milky jelly cleanser -- massage all over a dry, full face of makeup in evening and rinse, (I use a hot, wet washcloth) or on wet skin in the morning. Super gentle on the eyes and lightly scented with rose water *heart eyes*

Herbivore Botanicals rose hibiscus coconut water hydrating face mist -- mist on dry face after cleansing and before moisturizing. It's so refreshing and will help your moisturizer sink in.

Glossier priming moisturizer -- I love this in the morning before my makeup as a primer, it's super lightweight and has this radiance about it, it will make your face glow without looking oily!

Sunday Riley LUNA sleeping night oil -- I'll apply this oil at night, usually after the priming moisturizer. Plus, this magical oil contains retinol helping fade my acne scarring, reduces pore size, and soothes irritation.

AVEDA green science eye cream -- helps to fade fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area, and is suitable for the eye lid area as well.

Burt's Bees radiance eye cream -- I used this for years and still love it today! It contains royal jelly from the queen bee aiding in hydrating and keeping lines and wrinkles away.

AVEDA deep cleansing herbal clay masque -- I've used this for years throughout my battle with acne. This masque is awesome for oily skin. The clay absorbs impurities deep within the skin and it can be drying, so I don't use it too often.

Herbivore Botanicals pink clay hyaluronic acid mega moisture mask -- this mask was a lifesaver this past winter during some dry, cold weather. It's hardly a clay mask at all. When applied it's a beautiful rosy color, and once left on it melts down into a glossy, oil-like consistency on your face.
